When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach... and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach, among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.

Synopsis

Rose Turner, the matriarch of the Turner family, is nearing the end of her life. Rose has lived a full life and has strong faith, so she is content to leave this world to be reunited with her deceased husband, Harold. Her family, however, is struggling to accept the inevitability of her death. When an old friend of Rose’s shows up at her doorstep, Rose’s own life experiences with death begin to become known. We soon learn that the old friend is death personified and what unfolds is a humorous, sensitive, and poignant look at the family dynamics that play out when death draws near. 
Characters
DEATH / BERNIE: Male, 30s-50s. Visibly younger than Rose. Not as grim as you’d expect. Death wears casual clothes, not a cloak. Has a fondness for knock-knock and bad dad jokes. He has a unique relationship with Rose, and is seen and heard by Rose, but no one else.

GRANDMA ROSE / CHA-CHA: Female, age 85. Spirited, witty, a lover of life. 85 years young, facing her twilight years with open arms and open eyes.
DAVID: Male, Mid-50s. Rose's Son. Never married, David is retired and living the good life in Florida as he despises the cold Wisconsin winters. David loves to antagonize his little sister, Maria, but mostly over the phone as he is seldom back in Wisconsin. David is close to Rose, but he seldom calls and tends to hide his emotions behind a laissez-faire facade.

MARIA: Female, 40s-50s. Rose’s daughter. Seven years younger than her brother, David. Feels she must carry the concerns of the family as her brother David does not take things seriously. When verbally jousting with David, Maria loves to get in a few good shots.

SIMON: Male, 40s-50s. Maria’s husband. Good-natured and attentive, with a gentle wit. Simon is supportive of his wife, Maria, and active in Rose’s care.
 

JORDAN: Male, 20s.  Rose’s adult grandchild, son of Simon and Maria.  Earnest, anxious, and tenderhearted. Jordan does not know how to say goodbye.
 

ELLIE: Female, 20s. Jordan’s wife. Practical, dry sense of humor, a philosopher at heart.
 

BABY LILLY: Jordan and Ellie’s infant daughter. Only appears in the final scene, never seen by the audience. More than a literal character, Lilly represents the circle of life.
